Gabrielle Dawes is a freelance Casting Director; and Creative and Casting Associate for Jonathan Church Productions

Recent casting includes: tv development casting for Hat Trick Productions on Whatever Happened to Zimraan? by Alistair Beaton; Season Casting Associate for the 2017 Theatre Royal Bath Summer Season and Casting Director on Racing Demon, North By North West and Lady in the Van.

As an Associate of Chichester Festival Theatre from 2006-2016, Gabrielle cast over 45 productions including Taken At Midnight, Singin’ in the Rain, Private Lives, Neville’s Island, The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, The Browning Version / South Downs, Yes, Prime Minister, Taking Sides, Collaboration (all of which transferred to the West End); King Lear (and BAM New York), Macbeth (and West End, BAM and Broadway), Stevie (and Hampstead Theatre),Top Girls (and Trafalgar Studios), Bingo (and Young Vic).

Further West End theatre includes: Dead Funny with Katherine Parkinson, Ralf Little, Steve Pemberton & Rufus Jones, Hobson’s Choice with Martin Shaw, The Importance of Being Earnest with David Suchet, Blithe Spirit with Angela Lansbury, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof with James Earl Jones and Adrian Lester, The King’s Speech with Charles Edwards, Three Days of Rain with James McAvoy, Nigel Harman and Lyndsey Marshal, A Round Heeled Woman with Sharon Gless. Other theatre includes: What’s in an Name (Birmingham Rep/Mark Goucher Ltd), The Norman Conquests (Old Vic and Broadway), All About My Mother (Old Vic), Top Girls (Out of Joint tour); productions for Hampstead Theatre, Headlong, and Sheffield; Caroline, or Change, Elmina’s Kitchen, The Pillowman and Coram Boy (National Theatre 2000-2006).

Television credits include Macbeth directed by Rupert Goold, Harold Pinter’s Celebration, Elmina’s Kitchen by Kwame Kwei-Armah. Films include Perdie (BAFTA award for Best Short Film) and The Suicide Club.
