Simone Pereira Hind (formerly Simone Ireland) became a casting assistant at the age of 19, working in commercials, The Bill and on iconic children’s TV series Press Gang. As a newly fledged casting director she was fortunate to cast the play The Ride Down Mount Morgan for Arthur Miller. Simone later moved into television working on Spender and then co-cast her first film with Mary Selway, Circle of Friends. Subsequently Simone and her sister, Vanessa Pereira, cast numerous films such as Jude (Kate Winslet), Elizabeth (Cate Blanchett), Hamlet (Kenneth Branagh) and Spiceworld the Movie! Having taken a career break she now works with her associate, Anna Dawson, from her office in Edinburgh whilst maintaining a base in London. The majority of her work is still in features, but she has also done the casting in Scotland for 6 series of Outlander for Starz and Sony. Recent feature credits include Munich for Netflix and Turbine Studios, Falling for Figaro, Man and Witch, Nobody Needs to Know and Marionette.
