With aspirations of becoming a Casting Director from a young age, Sophie studied Film and Psychology at Oxford Brookes University, and received a 2.1 with Honours. After graduating, she worked in a few different sectors within media including her first work experience position in a video production office, which led to positions in audio production, talent management and extras casting in the commercials department. It wasn’t until she went freelance in casting in 2014 that she began casting featured roles, and landed her first freelance position with Gabrielle Dawes as Casting Assistant for Chichester Festival Theatre. Many different positions followed in varying sectors of casting including commercials with Thomas Adams (formerly Fruitcake), TV with Karen Lindsay-Stewart and film with Susie Figgis before settling in the office of Rose Wicksteed, for whom Sophie is now Casting Associate. She then cast her first project as Casting Director, short film Lynch for OxyGene Films, in 2018. She’s also worked in the offices of Kharmel Cochrane, Nina Gold, Alex Johnson, Nicky Bligh and Vicky Wildman. Sophie still works closely with Rose Wicksteed as her Associate whilst pursuing her own casting projects.
