Andrew Lynford – Casting Administrator

Andrew Lynford, Head of Casting at iSiteTV, is looking for a Casting Administrator *based near Colchester, Essex*

The Casting Department sits at the centre of all our projects. Reporting to the Head of Casting, you will specialise in all areas of administration required to secure talent, service providers and locations.

Attention to detail, strong organisation and excellent communication skills are crucial as you will experience working to tight deadlines and making sure specific requirements are met within each project. The role will be fast paced and variable as you work to support the Head of Casting with administrative processes to fulfil all casting briefs.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Your core duties will include (but are not limited to):

– Assisting the Head of Casting to source talent through casting platforms

– Completing talent contracts, deal memos, booking forms and any other documents for talent employment

– Updating internal databases & budget tracker

– Consulting with our in-house production teams

– Researching locations

– Undertaking all administrative work needed to progress projects

– Ensuring compliance with GDPR

– Booking lunches for talent if required

DESIRABLE

-Good knowledge of Microsoft, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

-A good understanding of industry standards/practices in casting

-Strong interest in social media or background in influencer casting/engagement

-Located near to the iSiteTV studios in Stanway, Essex*

*The nature of the role is such that it requires interaction with other internal departments daily, so is required to be full time, office based 5 days per week.

SHAHEEN BAIG CASTING – EXPERIENCE ASSISTANT

Shaheen Baig Casting is looking for an experienced assistant to start ideally before the end of May or the start of June. This is to work from our office in Finsbury Park for the majority of the time with the possibility of one day a week remote.

We need someone passionate with experience, self motivated and a good knowledge of actors, admin and tech.

Elaine Grainger Casting – Assistants

Elaine Grainger Casting is looking for two experienced assistants to start immediately, or as soon as possible. We definitely need one to start next week to work on various films across Europe, the Middle East and the US. This is to work mainly from home, with some in-person casting sessions in London and recalls with directors.

We need you to be self motivated and proactive with an excellent attention to detail and a high level of skills in research, admin and computers. You should have a very good knowledge of actors and agents, experience making lists, avail checks, in person sessions, the self tape process of downloading / uploading and using the usual sites such as spotlight and castit.

Casting Assistant based in or near the Welsh Valleys for a feature film project

Lucy Pardee is looking for a casting assistant based in or near the Welsh Valleys for a feature film project. Is a community-facing role focused on both street casting and conventional casting. Applicants need to be good with people, have good knowledge of the valleys and excellent organisational skills.

Would suit people with experience in casting, documentary research, community outreach or youth work, though not essential.

Must have own car.

Emma Garrett Casting – Casting Assistant

Emma Garrett Casting is seeking an experienced casting assistant in commercials, to start work ASAP for an initial period of 2 months, with potential for a more long term position in the future.

Applicants must be happy to work solely in commercials and have proven experience and be comfortable working at a very fast pace, across multiple projects.

Must be confident with client facing duties, a strong knowledge of commercial best practice and ideally experience in quoting on usages/buyouts would be a major plus. Being experienced in running commercial casting sessions would also be desirable.

Ideally London based and happy to work remotely, or north of England based.

Supported by Spotlight and Headline Sponsor EON Productions The Casting Directors’ Guild are delighted to announce the winners for the 2023 CDG Casting Awards, in partnership with Spotlight. Now in its fifth year, the CDG Casting awards seeks to reward and celebrate the incredible work achieved by casting teams across Film, Television, Theatre and Commercials. This year, a new category was added to champion the success of those casting children across all media types. There was also a special award recognising Ian Smith’s ‘Contribution to Casting’, sponsored by Conway Van Gelder Grant.

This year’s ceremony was held at Ham Yard Hotel and hosted, for a second time, by Jennifer Saunders. This year’s presenters included Bella Ramsey, Asim Chaudhry, Richard E. Grant, Rob Brydon, Harry Trevaldwyn, Laura Donnelly, Rose Ayling-Ellis, Toheeb Jimoh, Nikki Amuka-Bird, Oliver Jackson-Cohen and Gemma Chan.

The Stage – NT casting boss: No excuses for exclusionary casting after pandemic.

Increased online auditions during the pandemic means there is now no excuse for failing to cast inclusively, the National Theatre’s head of casting has argued.

Alastair Coomer, who leads the casting department at the NT, said producers and venues – particularly large organisations – should be ensuring that they reach out to actors based in all parts of the UK by offering online auditions. Coomer said having the option of casting remotely also means producers and casting directors must address historic accessibility failings.
