Casting Assistant (Matilda The Musical Tour) (1325)
The Royal Shakespeare Company is looking to appoint a Casting Assistant for the upcoming touring production of Matilda The Musical, across the UK and Ireland.
This is a freelance position, supporting the production’s casting directors, working a varying number of days per week, as the casting schedule dictates.
As Casting Assistant, you will be working alongside the freelance Children’s Casting Directors and the General Management team, to smoothly facilitate the initial children’s casting process for the upcoming Matilda the Musical UK Tour.
To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following skills and experience:
- Excellent local knowledge and local contacts in the young person’s dance and performance world, particularly in the Greater Manchester and surrounding areas.
- Ability to work on one’s own initiative and to prioritise effectively.
- Highly skilled at effective multi-tasking. This will be an admin heavy role, dealing with production, agents, and parents, so ability to keep on top of a busy email inbox and keep up to date and accurate records is essential.
- Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Confident and friendly manner.
- Accuracy and attention to details
- Competent in using Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word, as well as Dropbox.
The Children’s auditions will take place in Manchester, and we are looking for a candidate from the Greater Manchester area.
