Sam Jones – Casting Assistant

Sam Jones is looking for a Casting Assistant to join her for about 4 months from early July to work on some tv, film and theatre projects. Ideally someone with a good sense of humour and friendly manner, tech savvy, very well organised with a strong attention to detail. Happy to work remotely on their own initiative and to speak to agents etc on the phone. In a very ideal world, someone based in the South West ie Bath, Bristol, South Wales. Mainly availability checking, organising tapes and auditions, drawing up CANs and other general administration. Donmar Warehouse Casting Associate

Casting Associate
Are you someone who loves theatre and has a great knowledge of actors? The Donmar Warehouse is seeking a Casting Associate to work with the Casting Director as part of the in house casting team, they will ensure the department runs smoothly and efficiently.

The role will work closely with the Casting Director delivering high class casting across Donmar productions, readings and workshops. It’s a role with lots of variety that includes the creation of lists, artist and production research, leading communication with agents, preparing and running audition days and leading on casting workshops and readings. We are looking for someone with at least two years’ experience working in casting. We need someone who has an extensive knowledge of actors, a confident communicator and loves the theatre.

We particularly encourage applications from those who are currently under-represented both at the Donmar and more widely in the industry, and specifically from D/deaf or disabled, or neurodivergent applicants and applicants who experience barriers and inequity due to ethnicity, gender identity and/or socio-economic background.

Terms: Permanent, Full Time

The RSC is recruiting a Casting Contracts Manager. Please note this position will be in the Producers department and is not a casting role, but will be casting adjacent so please do pass it on to anybody you think might be a good fit …

Do you have significant experience in theatre administration, contracting or producing? Are you an efficient administrator with superb organisational skills? Can you work in a fast-paced team and environment whilst building meaningful relationships? Do you have meticulous attention to detail? Can you work under pressure and meet deadlines?

We are looking for a Casting Contracts Manager to lead the contracting process for the RSC’s acting companies. In this newly created role, you will take ownership and accountability for generating and distributing accurate Equity contracts, side letters, casting memos and other essential correspondence for the acting company.

Reporting to the Executive Producer, key areas of responsibility include (please see the full job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):

• Company Administration – drafting and negotiating contractual paperwork templates, managing the allocation of holiday, ensuring contractual records and databases are maintained.
• Legislation and Union Agreements – ensuring that acting company contracts are issued in line with best practice and current legislation, specifically RSC Equity Collective Agreement and to UK Theatre/SOLT Equity agreements.
• Stakeholder Relationships – fostering strong, collaborative relationships with actors’ representatives, being the first point of contact for queries, liaising between actors’ representatives, Company Stage Manager and Payroll regarding pay matters.
• Partnering with Casting – supporting inclusive casting practices and negotiating artists’ deals on productions cast by freelance Casting Directors.

To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have:

• Significant practical work experience in theatre administration, contracting or producing
• Strong IT skills, including MS Office and Adobe
• Efficient administrative, organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills
• The ability to work in a fast-paced team where building strong relationships is essential
• Self-motivation and the ability to manage your time and meet deadlines.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in the RSC’s London office, with work across various locations, including Stratford-upon-Avon. You will be working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, although occasional weekend and evening work will be required.
