The Guild is a professional organisation of Casting Directors in the film, television, theatre, games and commercials communities in the UK and Ireland, who have joined together to further their common interests in establishing a recognised standard of professionalism in the industry, enhancing the stature of the profession, providing a free exchange of information and ideas, honouring the achievements of members and standardisation of working practices within the industry.

Formed in 1996, The CDG represents Casting Directors across film, television, theatre, commercials and games in the UK, and requires all members to uphold the values and code of conduct at its core, ensuring the Guild remains a trusted and respected voice in the industry.

The CDG Awards honour Casting Directors and their teams for outstanding work across a number of disciplines, voted for by the membership. All members are eligible for nomination for Best Casting across all categories alongside their member Associate(s) and Assistant(s) and are invited to our annual awards ceremony in Central London, the biggest event in our calendar.
