Do you have significant experience in theatre administration, contracting or producing? Are you an efficient administrator with superb organisational skills? Can you work in a fast-paced team and environment whilst building meaningful relationships? Do you have meticulous attention to detail? Can you work under pressure and meet deadlines?

We are looking for a Casting Contracts Manager to lead the contracting process for the RSC’s acting companies. In this newly created role, you will take ownership and accountability for generating and distributing accurate Equity contracts, side letters, casting memos and other essential correspondence for the acting company.

Reporting to the Executive Producer, key areas of responsibility include (please see the full job description and person specification for the comprehensive list):

  • Company Administration – drafting and negotiating contractual paperwork templates, managing the allocation of holiday, ensuring contractual records and databases are maintained.
  • Legislation and Union Agreements – ensuring that acting company contracts are issued in line with best practice and current legislation, specifically RSC Equity Collective Agreement and to UK Theatre/SOLT Equity agreements.
  • Stakeholder Relationships – fostering strong, collaborative relationships with actors’ representatives, being the first point of contact for queries, liaising between actors’ representatives, Company Stage Manager and Payroll regarding pay matters.
  • Partnering with Casting – supporting inclusive casting practices and negotiating artists’ deals on productions cast by freelance Casting Directors.

To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have:

  • Significant practical work experience in theatre administration, contracting or producing
  • Strong IT skills, including MS Office and Adobe
  • Efficient administrative, organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced team where building strong relationships is essential
  • Self-motivation and the ability to manage your time and meet deadlines.

This is a full-time, permanent position based in the RSC’s London office, with work across various locations, including Stratford-upon-Avon. You will be working 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, although occasional weekend and evening work will be required.

Gilbert and Covell Casting – Assistants

Gilbert and Covell casting (Ollie Gilbert & Katy Covell) would love to hear from any freelance casting assistants who would be interested in ad-hoc, remote work on a couple of TV/ Feature projects over the next few months.

We’re looking for someone friendly with great organisational and admin skills, who has their own laptop/ computer. Knowledge of Spotlight, Google Drive, editing software (eg.iMovie) and a basic understanding of social media would be a plus, but not essential.

These projects will involve a combination of traditional and street casting approaches, so we’re particularly interested to hear from those with a prior experience in research and open-call casting.
